Rear suspension changes and some new tires seemed to do the trick for the understeer and 3-wheeling issues I had the first time out. Times improved during the day while I scrubbed the tires in and got a feel for the car. Lots more grip can be squeezed out I'm sure with some better driving techniques. My fastest time of the day was actually the non-points counted "fun run" I was 1.5 seconds quicker than my best previous time on a 35 second course!

I'm still having some fueling issues. They actually didn't crop up until leaving where I was left with no fuel pressure despite the tank being 3/4 full. I had to keep pulling the hose and getting the air pockets out before it would build pressure at all so a redesign is needed before I do another event.

Car looks soo good. What tires are you running now? Did you end up softening the rear a bit?

Actually I just lowered it (which in turn stiffened it).
The tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's. I couldn't swing R-compounds (even though everyone else in my class runs them). I'm determined to beat them regardless

The car looks great! What are you running for tire pressure?
Pretty short and sweet course though.

I ended up with about 35 in the front and 30 in the rear. I'm still 3-wheeling a little ( looking through photos) but no where near as badly as last time.

Wow, thats great that you are getting out and giving it hell!
It looks fast which is to say a lot because normally when you see autocross videos it looks like people are driving 10 mph around some cones.
We should talk about some pickup ideas for the fuel tank. I have a few ideas that might work.

Yes, we should talk. I was thinking something like these?
http://www.autoperformanceengineering.c ... ckups.html
But perhaps there is a simpler solution...
I was also wondering how SAAB did it on their stock tanked vehicles.
