3 96's entered for Oregon Trail
Thought it's worth mentioning in case you didn't notice that there's three (!) 96's entered for OTR this week. Wish I could go, but it's so far and I gotta work anyway. I've seen the red one before, but not familiar with the other two. I've been out there to work it a couple times, and competed in 09 in a GTI.

Re: 3 96's entered for Oregon Trail
I worked service for a friend at OTR (thanks again to everyone for advice) and I was able to get a few shots of the 96s. I *think* they all belong to Garth Ankeny, who drove the wheels off his red 96. I didn't get a chance to learn much about the cars, only that the white/blue one has tons of S&R bits on it and the engine's making over 150 hp. Garth's car (the red one) has Wilwoods, but I seem to recall being told that the engine isn't terribly special.
This one was said to have all the S&R goodies, but was driven gingerly by a first-time rallier with his wife navigating:
This one sat out Sunday due to a failed clutch line.
Ankeny/Kraushaar 96:
Not Saab, but cool:
Rare Lancia Scorpion:
My friend's new-to-him '87 Subaru RX (AWD Turbo). It's apparently a pretty rare car (only a couple thousand or so) and got tons of attention at the event, as apparently it's got some rally cred:

Did that blue and white one come over from Sweden or Europe recently? There was one that looked just like it for sale over there for a while....was in the $20,000 range and was an ex works car...I think...might be able to find the ad...last time I saw the ad it said the car was sold.

Yeah, that blue and white one does appear to have all the goodies!
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off

Not sure where the blue/white one came from. I'll see if I can get some more info...

Thanks for the pics, esp the RX and Lancia. I looked on a lot of other sites for pics of those and never saw any.
