This weekend marks the 8th consecutive year for us at the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally http://www.stpr.org/

Stages start in the middle of the day on friday and continue throughout saturday.

We are starting the season with a fresh look to the car and hopefully some fresh faces on the team as well.

We've been very busy getting the car all sorted and thus finer details for the rally are coming together at the last minute.
We could really use a few hands to help with the basic crewing for the weekend, fueling, swapping tires, checking suspension, etc....
Jeff, Paul, Hutch, any of you guys free and want to assist? If we get a few extra people its nice because then the crew can do a bit of a rotation and get some spectating in as well.

Sure thing. Just let me know where & when, Paul & I can help out. Hutch if you want to come but don't want to drive the whole way you could hitch a ride with us and leave your car at the compound since we are like 45 minutes from your house. We were just on some of the stages last weekend, I think you are in for some good roads this year, everything was in pretty good shape.

I'd love to help you guys out, even if it's just grabbing tools, etc. for you guys if I can make it. Right now I'm scheduled to work Friday and Saturday but I'll try to get off Saturday and hopefully join you all Friday night if possible. I will keep you updated.

Awesome, you guys rock!

After being on a wait list for a few weeks i just scored a hotel room, how many saabrally.com members can we cram into it I wonder?

When ever you guys can make it is great, Seth, jason and I will be there Thursday night late, but there's really no action till mid-day Friday.

Luke, if you have a chance/have room I will still take those springs if you want to bring them. Also, my brother will be there to help us with service, but we are seeded way at the back so he should have time to lend a hand if you need it.

Edit: They revised the start order and we start 30th and 31st. He could maybe still float around if needed though.

Well I'm a no go, too late of notice (entirely my fault as you guys published the schedule a while ago) but I put the NEFR on my calendar so hopefully I can make it to that one and lend a hand!

I heard from Seth tonight.
They completed the first day of the rally (one long rough stage, one shorter smooth stage, the same rough long stage run in reverse, two super specials). Part way through the first stage they lost second gear, an essential gear for that stage. They got through and transited to the next stage but the gearbox sounded like it was full of gravel. They decided to run the second stage because it was smooth and fast and second gear wasn't essential. They got to the third stage and only had 3rd gear. They completed that stage in 3rd and also the two super special stages.

They've located a gearbox and plan to swap it out tonight. It sounds like they'll be working outside. Before he hung up he said "oh, there's a tornado watch and lightning all around!" :sweden:

saw the pics on facebook, looks like they were able to do the work in a garage.
Hope they were also able to get some sleep.
I tried to find some sort of update on the stpr page but it's not exactly easy to navigate.

Delorean and Paul made a 4 hour round trip to pick up a trans. We had the engine nearly out by the time they showed up with parts. Swapped the box, as well as the pwr steering pump. Finally got it fired up around 5 am. Only had a few minor glitches this morning. Par for the course considering that the engine was in pieces only a few hours before. Intended to change out the diff, but abandoned that and a primary chain swap.

Luke reported that the unknown trans actually seemed to be working well in spite of being one legged with less than optimum gearing. Had a few items to button up at service today , and swapped an upper ball joint. This time we pulled it off in about 15 minutes, shaving 10 minutes off our previous record for the same repair.

Waiting for their return to the second Germania service.

Awesome that you guys were able to change that out! Were you able to use an engine hoist or did you have to get creative with lifting the powertrain out?

This was probably taken on SS3
