LeMons "There goes the Neighborhood" - Monticello, NY '13

Postby Jordan » Fri Apr 05, 2013 6:40 am

I had a longer post yesterday that I was going to make , but somehow lost it yesterday. Anyway, we are headed up to NY this weekend to run "Norman" the 900T. If anybody is in the area we hopefully will be up and running Sat and Sun 9-5 at Monticello Motor Club. Now with roof mounted exhaust and power steering powered transmission cooler.

I'll post some pics and info later on.

I think multiple pieces. Car was running great, until it wasn't. The problem started when the wastgate arm backed off the locknut (maybe wasn't locked) and unthreaded itself. We reattached where nut was but car was over-boosting like crazy. Combination of the new exhaust and too tight waste-gate saw boost pressures bottoming put the needle in 3rd gear. It wasn't until the end of the day that it could be rectified and i think the damage had already been done. Mid morning Sunday we put on a smoke show as something probably let go. Turbo was also toast. Loudon is about 1 month away and I am contemplating motor options.

Well we committed for the Loudon, NH event already so there is a lot of work to be done in less than a month....
