High Desert Trails Rallycross

Postby DrewP » Thu May 16, 2013 11:11 am

I went to this a few weekends back and finally pulled photos off my camera.

Since the green car was down, I took my black '85 and bought some Firestone Winterforce snows for the front.

The car had way too much power and just spun the wheels like crazy once the turbo spooled up, so I ended up running it with the APC solenoid unplugged to stick it just in base boost, and it was much more manageable.

I didn't scrape or bottom anything because the course was so flat, but it was definitely too low for this sort of thing. My chunky aluminum S&R skid plate made me feel ok about it though.

I took the black wheels off because the all everything completely black wasn't doing it for me anymore, I thought it needed some contrast and I like it a lot now with the white wheels and the shiny silver grille and headlamp surrounds.
