Fart-hinder Racing Saabs

Postby Krasch » Tue Apr 26, 2016 6:56 pm

The Fart-hinder Racing Saab 9-3 (a.k.a. Fart-kontroll) did pretty well at our first race of the season, a pair of ChumpCar 7-hour endurance races at Road America. Not easy to keep up with the modified BMWs in our stock 9-3, but we got through the weekend with no extra time in the pits. Finished 12th of 55 starters on Saturday, 13th of 49 on Sunday.

Our next race is at our home track, Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota, on May 21-22, 2016. Sanctioned by the World Racing League, the weekend consists of two 8-hour endurance races. We also should have a Mazda Miata entered at that race if it is finished in time. Spectators are welcome, as there will probably be drag racing on the old main straight. Admission is charged, but I don't know how much. Sometimes its $10, sometimes its $25 per person.

Our 1991 Saab 900S is still sitting next to the garage. We don't have enough drivers to run both Saabs this year, so we haven't rushed to fix it. It needs exhaust and gearbox work. It is also for sale with a garage-full of spares, AND a complete running parts car with a fresh engine and good gearbox. Contact timwinker51@gmail.com for details.
