Geared up and ready for Black River

Postby Luke » Thu Sep 27, 2007 10:08 am

The team departs tommorow morning for black river stages 2007. Set on the twisty roads near Harrisville New York, the event combines unrelenting crests and turns with a great casual atmosphere. Our classic 1975 99 ems is scheduled to start 2nd overall in 2wd. We have prepared the car for this event with a new set of Hankook tires, new rally shifter and a reinforced skid plate.
New this year is the addition of rally-moto to the competition. Saabrally.com team member and back up co-driver Seth "Mongo" Strait has entered the moto event in his dual sport KTM.

Here are some preview shots of the stages, ranging from smooth and sandy to rough and rocky.

Sounds like quite an event.

How many Saabs did you end up getting to come?

I'll be working the Wild West club rally here in Washington State this weekend. It should be a lot of fun but none of the local Saabs have entered.

I am as usual the only one.

Seth,Groo and Geoff will all be present at the event though, and thats at least 80% of the current group of saab rallyists, so we'll have a good time.

Don't forget there will be a second SAAB there. The course opening car is Bruce Turk's Bullnose 96!
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:
