I was cleaning up and inspecting the 5-speed that came out of the '92 body and when I pulled the side cover, the roll pin looked suspicious... is it right? or should I knock it in? (edit: sorry its rotated 90 degrees).
Other than that it looked pretty good, only one little chip in reverse gear.
Is this right?

I don't know for sure but my gut tells me that a roll pin should not be sticking out like that. Much further and whatever its holding will no longer move properly.

Re: Is this right?
Well that's what my gut told me as well, but I was trying to find a definitive answer since it could be correct...

That is normal, the roll pin is just a bit over-sized All that does is hold the shaft for the reverse gear engagement "fork." Don't go trying to hit that in further with a hammer or anything
Less brake more gas!

Thanks.

I can confirm with Delorean, that although it looks weird thats how they all are. The early ones had a set screw there instead. That thing is a real pain in the rump to get out by the way.
