Flares, yea or nay?

Postby 99Super » Sun Jun 05, 2011 6:40 pm

I mocked up FrankenSAAB w/ Dennis' flares and my 0" offset wheels and was wondering what the general consensus is.

If I want to run them, it will be a permanent change, needing to trim and weld the fender lips. I'm getting both negative and positive comments so far...
Thoughts?

OH MAN! That's some 1970's badassary!

Do you expect the wide tires and wheels help?

While this car has seen more than it's share of dirt miles (see avatar), it will never see a dirt road again.

The flares match the style in which the rear spoiler and air dam are made and attached to the base 99. With those wide gumball tires the flares really don't look out of place.
Put them on...

I would put them on with 3-M trim tape, And not cut your fenders out. That gray 2 sided tape is pretty strong. You're not rallying it, so I think it will be strong enough of a bond. With the black trim, bumpers, spoilers and louvers, the flares need to stay black. It really looks right on the car.
