I don't recognize this wheel, but I like it. Its on a 94 convertible. Anyone know what it is?

I think they are generally just referred to as an 8 spoke, I believe they came on 9000's and are pretty strong. I also have a set and agree that they do look nice on a 900.

They were in the Accessories Catalog in the early- to mid-90s, so, 4x108 PCD. 15x6 IIRC, and likely ET33.
It looks like they recycled the rim portion of the wheel when they made the V6 9000 wheels (and maybe others??): the rim portion looks the same, but there are about 15 spokes. I've got a set of these on my '89 900:

I think they came on 50th anniversary edition 9000's and you could also get them at a dealer. I've seen them on a handful of cars around town which is somewhat surprising since they seem to be kinda rare especially on 900s. Here they are on my friends 900, I think they are a great looking wheel and they seemed pretty robust:

Hutch beat me to the photo !!
Did you get the vert in 94 ?

You frequently see them on 9000 "super CS" - was it 97's? Full pressure turbo 9000 CS. I like em, they go nice on a 900. Since they are the 6" rather than 5.5, and have the 9000 offset a 205 55 15 rubs, but the 195 60 15 should fit fine.
Less brake more gas!
Re: What wheel is this?
At one of the conventions in the late 90's SAAB had pallets and pallets of those wheels for sale outside the parts tent, the price was very fair for a brand new set of wheels, something around $200 a set or so. Then I think Sports Car Service bought everything that was left over and had them for sale at future conventions and at their place.
I suspect thats where a lot of the ones that were out there came from.

I've had no rubbing with 205/55-15 Kumho SPTs (NLA, unfortunately). The 7mm offset difference vs. stock c900 15x5.5 40mm hasn't been an issue, at least, not on my standard Turbo w/SPG springs. Of course, YMMV. To the best of my knowledge, all 15x6 9000 rims were ET33; presumably, all 16x6.5 were ET27. 15x7? No clue, but ET25, IIRC??

Re: What wheel is this?
I have a set of those, new in the boxes with new center caps that I might be convinced to sell...
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off
Re: What wheel is this?
They do look nice on a 900. The pic on the convertible was a car I found on craigslist.
I missed getting a set last year on a parts car, and had never seen them before.
Geoff, a new set? Nice! Frankly, I doubt i could afford them, but what are you looking to get?
Oh, wait, have to be convincing.... PLEASE!!!!

I'm not sure. I'd have to be thoroughly convinced. Right now I've got this twisted fantasy about converting my '80 99 to later 900 brakes/hubs and using those wheels on it.

Re: What wheel is this?
I like that twisted fantasy, but I'll have to see what incentive I can think of. Probably no time soon. :)
