You lucky buggers !!!

Postby sweedspeeduk » Thu Oct 13, 2011 12:33 pm

Well the topic title say's it all really !

You guys in the US are soooo bloody lucky. Having had a good look round the forum and seen the piles of junk as you call it makes so jealous .

I wish I could find a '71 99 anywhere in the uk let alone in a junk yard OR a '74 combie with a acc roof rack,
Oh and the piles of EMS alloys, the sonnets laying in a field with a pile of socker's under a tree !

Man I need to MOVE !!!!!!

You would struggle to find a sonnet in the UK for less than £4000
I think there is less than 50 in the country anyway !

Oh and twin headlight grilles GOOD LUCK :ranting:

Right sorry about that just been looking for half the stuff above for years (at a sensible price ) and its so hard to source some of this stuff but if you need it to finish projects then that drives the prices up .

Same old story I suppose supply and demand !

Rant over!

You blokes do get all sorts of cool cars/engines that we never get here because they think we need another bloated SUV to carry our cheesburgers. And let's not forget how you guys have all that wonderful lukewarm beer :P

The sad part is seeing cars that could be salvaged rotting out in a field. Its really a weird market for 99s .. I think for the majority of car buffs they are considering a crappy import, but fans are definitely diehard.

Also, it seems very easy to this get the "99 bug" .. there are several folks who have sets of cars and they hoard parts carefully. And bless them for that.

There are so many here because if cars in the U.S. had to pass anything half as strict as the MOT inspections easily half the cars in the entire country would be immediately removed from the road.

Do they only drive on the wrong side of the road in the south too? :P

I'm sure I could get together a set of dual round headlights if you want to ship this over in exchange
