4x4 saab !?
Ok so been pondering this for a while now and thought some of the more "mechanical experimenter" minds on here might be able to put my mind at rest about it !
Here's my thinking :-
The SAAB box for the B202 has the diff at the rear most part of the casing ............
The diff cover is a weak spot in the box so gets re made in steel..................
Soooooo
How hard would it be to fit a baring housing into the new cover to give a "PTO" for a prop !?
Well it IS the random thoughts board
I think it would give a clockwise rotation !? But its late at night here now and my brain is scrambled !

If memory serves, someone has done just that, in France, I believe. Not sure how it worked out, or even whether it did work out, however.
I have seen photos of a c900 RWD/rear engine conversion where the front of a donor 900 was simply grafted into the rear. Car was sold a few years ago, out in Colorado.
There is also a guy in Sweden who modified an Audi AWD system to an early 99:

I think that's something we all think of from time to time. Please build one :-)

Please duplicate the parts and make them easy to install, robust, and inexpensive to purchase.

If you could make a PTO,... You could use the back half of a second C900 trans with just the pinion shaft sticking out. Graft the front chassis and suspension in the back of a 900. Run a driveshaft between the 2. With a pair of Quaife diffs it would be pretty awesome if it would hold up.

Re: 4x4 saab !?
I'd rather see a 900 with an engine in the front and the back and a transmission on each and a crazy shift linkage to operate them both at the same time. But that is pure fantasy. I would see no practical purpose to have a 4wd saab, unless you have a 700hp drag race car.

Or you could drop a saab shell on a blazer frame.

Here's a dual-engined Scirocco (called the "Durocco"):
The guy built it for less than two grand...
Yeah, totally impractical, but looks like a lot of fun.
