Scrapping B-Turbo engine...parts to keep?

Scrapping B-Turbo engine...parts to keep?

Hey all,
I have a 76L that had a Turbo engine installed at some point but the water pump shaft was stripped and progress on the car stopped at that point. I got the car as part of another project and soon I'll start another build thread on it.

In the meantime, I need to scrap another car and I don't need another junk engine laying around.

I'll keep the oil pump, mostly for the sandwich plate, but I can't see keeping anything more than *maybe* the crank pulley and timing bits.

Anybody need anything before it gets junked?

I'd save the oil cooler sandwich plate unless that is part whole pump assembly, which you said.

Definitely the timing bits. Maybe pistons if they're good. Crank pulley, head. That's about it probably. Waterpump cover and dissy if present.

Is the B turbo exhaust manifold any good?
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:

I just broke the spade tab off what I think is the fan speed switch - it's threaded into the front of the thermostat housing. I'll go grab a photo right now to see if yours has the same sender.

I don't have any extra valve shims (or any spare head parts for that matter), would you part with the head?

I pulled it all apart yesterday. I couldn't separate the sandwich plate from the oil pump so it all came off. Looks like it had a new Sachs clutch!

Geoff, the manifold is uncracked! Do you need it?

Drew, the head is all yours if you need it. I've got plenty.

I'll start a build thread on this car soon.

I have one good one (going on an engine) and 2 or 3 cracked ones. I don't need it, but if nobody else does I can hang onto it as a good spare.

This thing. The hex bit that used to have a male spade terminal coming off the front - what is? This is on my '73 with D-Jet, the coolant temp sensors for the guage and for the ECU are on the other side, is this a fan switch?

It's a switch of some sort (duh), but the fan switch is usually on the upper rad outlet.
That little circle you at pointing at can be popped out and you can adjust the level, I do it on the fan switched all the time, but I'm guessing it's some sort of D-Jet cold start switch. I'll check my book when I get home to see what it is.
I have some D-jet stuff arounf. If I can find it, I'll throw it in the box w/ the head.

I have a few factory manuals that cover it too, but didn't bother looking it up since I know I broke it.

Mine didn't have a fan switch in the upper rad hose. Worst case I could just splice in a C900 elbow junction with a C900 switch, pretty sure I have one of those around somewhere.
