My understanding is that is goes on the left hand because that is closer to the heart. So if there is any chance of metal poisoning it will happen that much faster.

Right, the Europeans wear it on the right hand. I've been seeing more and more people in our part of town doing the trendy-Euro-Right-Handed thing and was hoping I wasn't behind the curve.

Errr never heard of wearing your wedding ring on the right hand !?
Which is strange as I live in the U.K and have worked in Germany, France and Spain.
