Just north of SF, in Petaluma, and the Lagunitas taproom gets all my money. I moved here a few years ago, have yet to see another 99 on the road. :dunno:

I used to run the Right Solution Saab shop in LA and I only ever saw 4, and all 4 belonged to other Saab mechanics or their relatives.

Stone just opened a tap room in Pasadena, that's usually my weapon of choice. Recently introduced the Ruination IPA to some friends in Minnesota when we were there for Xmas. Was fun to watch their faces as all their taste buds were consumed by the hoppy, hoppy rage.

You have to pass emissions tests on a 35-year-old car? :-O

Here there's not even an inspection (any age) :P

In the '70s my uncle was in California driving his stroker. A cop was behind him at a stop light. He pulled away from the stop light and the cop pulled him over and handed him a ticket and a Polaroid of his exhaust puffing smoke. Translation: He got fined for driving a car which was operating the way it was designed.

:yay: for cider!

We have a lot of cider making in New England. This place is near my house and has a lot of interesting 'apple wines' (cider with a high enough alcohol content to be labeled "wine" by government requirements) ranging from dry to semi-sweet. http://www.silvermountainciders.com/
There's a funny quote and I can't remember who said it (circa late 1700's early 1800's I think) but it goes something like this, "New Hampshire would have a lot of potential if it wasn't for the cider."

Ace Cider in Graton Ca just up the road does a good job, using the last few acres of apple and pear which have avoided the dozers....conversion of all things into grapes is well under way. Everything from Xmas trees to hop farms are mostly long gone. Wine is King out here. All is not lost; as Pliny The Younger is ready I hear...

I've invented something I call a President's Day Weekend

1 oz Bourbon
3/4 oz Flag Hill Sugar Maple Liquor
1/4 to 1/2 oz smokey Scotch (depends on how smokey it is)

Mix
Add to a glass full of fresh snow
