I have never seen a 95/96/Sonett driving around either come to mention it. Not counting SAAB meets.

The last time I saw a 99 in the wild (not counting Saab events or friends cars) was probably about 10 years ago on I-95 in southern New Hampshire. The last time I saw a 96 just running normally on the road was 6 or 7 years ago on I-64 here in Louisville, KY and I ended up becoming good friends with the owner after we made contact through Saabnet.

Lots of classic 900s in the PNW and can be seen daily. 99s are very rare. I've only seen one within the past 6 months that I had never seen before that wasn't being driven by a person I knew. I did see a very nice 99T parked over by Oberloh around 125th and Aurora.

Thats how it used to be for 99s out there during the mid to late 90s. I counted more than half a dozen 99s, and a two stroke 96 in the two days I spent in Seattle back in 1996. The other three and half weeks I spent around Gig Harbor netted a Sonett III sighting along with another 99.
Oddly enough, there are several Sonetts here in South Central Texas including one two miles from my house, and three owned by someone else about six miles away.

I saw the same thing around '96 or '97 when I went to visit family in Corvallis, Oregon. 99s all over! It turns out many were maintained by a SAAB shop (John Collins). It helps when there's a local mechanic that keeps them going.
I also saw a nice longnose 96 driving around Bend, OR on that same trip.

The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off

here in chicago a nice big city nothing older than a c900 even those are becoming a very rare site maybe 1 or 2 every 6 months...i wave to every saab i see regardless of year or model (my driver is a 96 9k aero) i think i've only gotten a few return waves....not to drift too far but i had stopped at a gas station a few months back and a guy with a 9000 cs came in we both bs'd for a while looking into each others car, since we have become good friends come to find out we live less than 10 miles apart
