OK GUYS,
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO LONGER WHEEL STUDS FOR THE 99/900 114.3 PCD.....
HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD ANY MADE,OR FOUND AN ALTERNATIVE MANUFACTURER STUD THAT WILL FIT......?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330845608353? ... 1423.l2649
I BOUGHT ONE OF THE STUDS ADVERTISED ON EBAY FOR A JEEP 1/2 UNF,55 MM IN LENGTH AS OPPOSE TO 47MM ON THE ORIGINAL SAAB ONE.......
PROBLEM IS THE SHANK ON THE SAAB STUD WITH THE SPLINES ON IT MEASURES 14 MM PLUS OR MINUS(NUTCASE IF YOU ARE READING THIS,CAN YOU MEASURE THE SPLINES DIA. ON ONE OF THEM NEW SAAB 99 WHEEL STUDS YOU HAVE,AS MINE ARE 'SQUASHED' ?).......THE JEEP ONE IS ONLY 13MM,SO ESSENTIALLY THE 'JEEP' STUD WOULD HAVE NOTHING FOR THE SPLINES TO GRIP INTO, ON THE FLANGE.....AND ESSENTIALLY RATTLE AROUND IN THE HOLE...
NOTE; TRIED TO FIT TODAY IN DRIVESHAFT FLANGE,AND IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO JUST SLID THE 'JEEP' STUDS IN ,THEN MIG WELD FROM REAR.BUT FLANGE WOULD NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM BEARING DUE TO HEAT PENETRATION
THE 'JEEP' STUD WOULD DO THE JOB APART FROM THAT,PROVIDING MORE THREAD FOR THE 'WIDER WHEEL'' ISSUE AND/OR SPACERS....
EITHER THAT,OR WE ARE BACK TO THE USUAL 'GETTING THEM MACHINED FROM SCRATCH' WHICH YOU CAN PROBABLY COUNT THE 'INTEREST' ON ONE HAND......
I WONDER IT THE 'ENDURO 900' RETAINED THE ORIGINAL WHEEL STUDS WITH THOSE MASSIVE WIDE WHEELS?

Re: 99 /900 LONGER WHEEL STUDS
I did that on my 84 900 notchback.
I used a Moroso stud.
It required opening the holes in the hubs to fit the larger knurl diameter.
You also have to open up the lug holes in the rotor, and may need different lugnuts depending on wheel choice.
