Re: Manual Steering Gear
It's not the quick ratio unit, but if they still have stock, could be a viable replacement for a bad standard unit.

Re: Manual Steering Gear
They say thats the exact part in the picture, but its not. It looks close though, and they say that you have to send your original for them to rebuild, so that might be a good sign that they have the parts to do the rebuild. Might be worth a shot at some point, if anybody goes for it report back!

Re: Manual Steering Gear
I remember hunting parts for my 900 EMS rack, and I recall talking to a rebuilder that said if I sent them mine, they could rebuild it, but it could require them to make parts for it. So it may cost a bit more.
I dont recall who I talked to at the time though...

Re: Manual Steering Gear
I have a quick ratio rack needing a rebuild in my 78 notch. I also have a machine shop. I could make a new bushing out of delrin, nylon etc, or even sintered bronze. The thing is, I need to get in there and try to figure out the original dimensions....because I have no drawings. If I get some help, making more than one should be no prob hint nudge cajole

Re: Manual Steering Gear
I was hoping to pull my rack out this winter and address the issues, but I have not had the time or money to do anything about it.
Mine is a 79 900 EMS unit.
Most car related stuff is on hold right now, excepting for necessary repairs. Hopefully things sort themselves out and I can get back to playing with the toys.

When I pulled the rack, passenger side had a sad looking white-ish plastic bushing hanging out. It has some flats on it, but I don't know how it was supposed to be held in place.
