Marty Adams at Meyer Saab in Iowa might be willing to help too. He used to post a lot as "Moonracer."

That's not too far from Paul's dad's (?) place. You could ask Bruce if he knows any dealers around there.

We stripped my 98 NG900 yesterday. Liberated the ecode lens headlights and turn signals, pulled all the T5 bits and harness. grabbed the head and the full exhaust with good flex pipes and nice SS Saab exhaust. The wheels and tires will go after it gets to the junkyard. Pulled the rear bilsteins, didnt feel like dealing with the front bilstein struts. Pulled the skidplate and all the fuses and relays.

I took a few minutes and swapped out the rear decor panel on the 9000. Previous owner had installed a dual backup light style, so I found a good clean unit w/ the rear fog and put the right one back. Next, put in the E-codes.

I started the 96 up today...backed it out of the garage...reorganized the garage...and then pulled the 96 back in closer to the wall. Making room for a stove and refrigerator while my house is torn apart.

Pulled the E-Codes from Deb's 9000 and replaced them w/ some perfect lenses I got at the junkyard yesterday.
The 'new' ones had that anti-chip plastic on them and that kept them perfect. Took a while to get all the plastic and adhesive off.
I also epoxied the taillight bulb holders since those stupid melted plastic 'rivets' always fail.

The E-Codes will go in the CSE tomorrow...

I don't know John, sounds to me you are starting to enjoy these "newer" cars? Next think you know you will be driving a 9-3ss.

I would love a 9^3 AeroX, but for now, these low mile (150K), rust-free 9000s will have to do. At least while I can still get parts.

I have a few spare 99's if anyone needs one ;)

I enjoy my 99 9-5. I would like to pick up a few clean ones to hide away so I always have one to drive for the next 30 years

I like my 9-5 a lot too. The 9-3SS drives great, but after hearing about how much trouble people are having getting the Haldex rear diffs serviced (and repaired) I am pretty sure I'll have to avoid them, which is a shame, they drive great.

Chris Rizzon...of Chris Rizzon Saab repair has a newer 9-5 that had some diff problems. He found that Saab required replacing the whole thing...but then he discovered it was the same part number as the Cadillac. The Cadillac uses the same rear differential and you can get individual parts for it. So he was able to get whatever part he needed for $100 or similar. Might be something to look into.

I will make sure to refer people to that option, but our GM dealers around here are not at all willing to deal with people trying to cross-reference Saab parts anymore. I don't really blame them, but it's still shitty.

Rescued this 900 today.

No definite plans yet...

Replaced the exhaust on Deb's 9000 last night.
The flange ring behind the cat was broken so I cut off the flare then cut the flare and ring off the resonator and had my local exhaust shop flare it out and clamped it over the cat pipe. All new hangers, too.
I think it took longer to remove the old one than install the new one!
