Sandblasted all the major rust spots on the sprinter over the weekend, primed, and painted with rattle can paint to help prevent further damage until I can have a proper repair done. Even with slightly mismatched paint spots it looks a lot better than rust runs and bubbles. Next fun project is fixing a broken exhaust manifold stud which will probably require me to pull the engine out to fix.

Is that your V4 powered woodsplitter on Craigslist?

My saw is a Stihl 031AV. It's a bit older than those Husqvarnas, probably around the age of some of that SAAB equipment you've got there.

The Craigslist unit isn't mine. Will say that I had an odd moment reading that ad, seeing as how I was using my own monstrosity a few hours previous.
Good eye on the parts. I've got some Volvo 240 in there as well.

The saws in the boot are a convenient homage to the two-stroke Saab. Not sure if I have more saws or Saabs, but somewhere in the collection I also have an 031av.

pulled the OMP racing seat out of the drivers side and put a Corbeau road seat in its place. The seat had come out of one of Jon's cars and wasnt being used and I was getting tired of the race seat for a road car...both climbing in and out of it and the position wasnt so comfortable for longer drives...though the support and road feel was great. The corbeau is a lot more comfortable and overall works pretty well. However, like most seats, the seat back is designed for a shorter torso so there is a shape at the top that digs into your back....not super uncomfortable but enough that I'll see if I can fix.

Drove Frank to the Auto-X at the Ontario, OR airport yesterday. It's about 60mi west of Boise.
Won the SMF Class (3 cars). 15th overall and 13th in PAX out of 36 cars total.

I think that seat was designed for someone under five feet tall.

yeah its a little perplexing

I received 2 airdams I ordered from SAS. Looks like they made a better mold. Much nicer that past units.

Glad these are still produced. I still have an original on the 99t that I made from an EMS. But after you put the air duct holes in the thing gets pretty fragile.

Verifying my cad layout. Check clearance between the hump cutout and the ring gear.

I have a similar picture somewhere of a paper template laid out on the gearbox from when I was helping with Rev2 of the 9Sport diff cover.

Scanwest? There has been lots of inquiries for diff covers on facebook. I have a diff cover that I started a couple of years ago that I was going to use a section from a 2-1/2" 90 degree elbow for the protrusion. What do you use?

The original 99T airdam was just the EMS unit w/ holes cut and screens/duct added. I would have preferred the smooth EMS style for the new project.
While the new SAS airdams have a much better finish overall, the opening locations are now 1" deep closed recesses that need the backs cut out for airflow. Or filled for the smooth look.
