Plug for my brother's band

Postby Luke » Sun Aug 12, 2007 12:56 am

My brothers band "Let's French" just released a new music video, all shot on old fashioned super-8 film. Check it out at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w-di4Z4HiY

:) skitbra!

The collage work in that video is superb & super-8 is the grooviest!
Kinda gotta REM/Husker Du sound mixed with some Brit edge & a little postpunk quirkiness...pretty deep philosophical message goin' on in that tune...did one of the bandmembers do the artwork?

The artwork was mostly clipped from old magazines or hand-drawn by the band. They have developed quite a following in the New York to DC corridor where they play. Unfortunatly my brother (the lead guitarist) has decided to move to Hungary for a year to work on his masters degree, so their last show is in just a few days at the Black Cat in DC.

I've listened to their CD a few times now, and I must say I do like it. Sounds a bit like the strokes combined with The Editors. But then again, I have a weird way of looking at music...

I tend to look at music with my ears. How do you look at music?
