NH rally in Jan 08

Postby 79-99 » Fri Oct 19, 2007 9:54 am

Hey,
Are you guys coming up to the Oneil rally on Jan 19 2008? I spoke with Kathy Moody at the Union rallyX last weekend and she said the rally would be in January ,not the fall like last year.

I'll probably be there to help out in some way or another. Or if Luke wants to loan me his car.... So long as it doesn't coincide with the VT Winter TSD rally.

Hmm that sounds tempting. I havent done a snow rally yet, only rallyx's. Maybe Mike will have his car together by then too.

I think the entry fee is pretty decent too.

does the car need to be rally prepped? Would be cool to run a turbo c900 with hakka snow tires.

Anybody have any firm info on this event? I haven't seen any posted anywhere, I checked teamoneil.com, rally-america.com, nasa rally sport, and specialstage. Nothing.

Are there going to be roads off the school grounds? Are the permissions at least written in ink?

Who is sanctioning? NASA, CARS, RA?

Entry fee?

Can they move it away from my planned ski weekend at Mt. Tremblant? Rearranging child and dog care and my wedding anniversary  would be a nightmare.

Might not be snow in there in Jan, just very hard dirt. Last year they were working on ski resort type snowmaking equip. for the winter driving safety classes. Almost always good snow by Feb but seems like Jan can go either way. I think last years rally was a hit, only heard good things. I guess they were able to use a bit of the local neighborhood as well as the school roads. Al Moody should have to run on 3 cylinders just to keep it fair. He could probably run most of it with his eyes closed.

so by rally america sanctioned event, you mean an otherwise stock car will not be able to compete?

a rally America sanctioned event tends to be more expensive and the rules tend to be pretty strict. A car that will pass NASA tech wont necessarily pass rally America tech.
