You buy it in running condition and I'll drive it out for the cost of a plane ticket home.

I like that idea alot!
I'm out in the field all day today, but I'll tlak to Deb about it when I get back. We are still working on getting the addition done, but it's starting to look like we may be able to swing it.

I'll contact John about it this evening as well...

Let me know what you end up deciding, I was ready to put my car up for sale and possibly go see this car in the near future when I have the time. Unfortunately the timing of this being for sale is just a little off for me but I'm trying to figure out a way to make it work. My heart votes 99 but my stupid brain is telling me otherwise, either way though I'm glad someone is going to keep this thing going.

Do you want to trade for a nice '99 9-5 sedan, with all the modern luxuries, like ice cold air conditioning, cassette stereo sound system, and power steering?

It goes without saying that hand delivery is included....

I'm getting my father's fancy but high mileage chevy viggen which is why I want to turn up the crazy factor with a good weather only car. Just for the hell of it though what are the specs on the 9-5? My father wants to replace his 9-3 with something as practical and is looking at VW's :barf:

you still have the 99? I just had a beloved 900 8V NA croak on me - would be more than happy to part with 2500 for a 99 with a T16 under the hood and a rebuilt fuse (gearbox) - how's the interior on the 99? Feel free to drop me an email at drstevehorn@yahoo.com

Cheers

Steve

I was thinking the same thing!

Luke, what's the story with the 9-5?

Its a 2000 9-5 Gary Fisher, 210K, black, pretty straight body, working AC and heat. CEL light comes on and off for a faulty bypass valve, replaced but still comes on, runs fine though. Rear wheel bearing makes a little noise and turbo puffs on cold start sometimes, but other than that is a nice driver and with the extra body cladding and fisher wheels it looks pretty cool.

Sweet ride. But you're selling right? You should get some dolls and car seats and fill the back seat with them.

Jersey plates?

Mine's a '99, 212k miles, 4-speed auto, original owner always on the West coast, always serviced at the dealer (I have every service record), reeks of proper maintenance too. Silent timing / balance shaft chain, cold A/C (waiting for driver's mix flap arm to come in to get it all the way cold on driver's side), nice paint, two small popped seams on driver's seat, but very nice charcoal leather interior. Dash is perfect.

I need to fix cosmetic damage on both pass. side doors (will put new doors), and needs a front wheel bearing. I've been getting ~25mpg average even with traffic around town in LA, sitting on the 405 waiting for to start moving even with the automatic.

This was a base model, no traction control, no heated seats (power F seats though with driver's memory).

Comes flying the colors of the Democratic party.

That CEL can mean a few things, usually just means one of the vac lines in the area of the bypass valve has gone wrong, I think it can also mean theres an issue with the BPC? Can't recall but its probably worth checking out all the vac lines if you haven't already.
