I want one of the very early 900 grilles like this one below on the blue '79 at Jordan's shop. Doesn't have to have an EMS badge, I have one of those, but I'd like my new green '79 to look the part!
Something in need of refurb is OK too, broken tabs or all faded.
Looks like this:

I'd also do one of the '81-'83-or-whatever grilles like this:

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
I think I may have the second one.
It's not perfect, but I did sort of a resto on it with intent to use on a project. Changed my mind.
I'll look to see if it is hanging around the shop.

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
I found a guy in Idaho a while back who had a whole pile of both kinds, plus a bunch of Carroll-Shelby rims (all gold veins), and a load of other stuff including a gauge cluster from an early 900 turbo with a 130mph speedo! Ever heard of one of those? It was definitely an early 900 turbo cluster - had the retro turbo sign and different gas gauge and 8k tach. It was not a 140 or a 125 mph, nor was it the 85mph. Definitely a 130mph. I wanted it bad, but the guy didn't get back to me for like 6 months. When he did get back, he said his kids had been kidnapped by his ex-wife and he was on the other side of the country trying to get it sorted out. He apologized profusely and said he would get back to me as soon as he got home. Must have never gotten home cuz I never heard from him again. Otherwise, I would have one of those fancy grilles for you. And one for me.
I guess that was a pretty long story just tell you I don't have one.

Well I'm gonna buy ^^^ that grey one from Jason, but if anyone gets or has the '79 type I'll still buy it.
Thanks!

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
Hi Drew
I have this if it is of any use?
![Image](http://i812.photobucket.com/albums/zz49/MotivationFairy/IMG_0423.jpg)
The only damage is the centre chrome bezel mounting.
I would prefer just to do a direct swap for a LH plastic twin headlamp surround if you have one?

Thanks
Neil

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
The grille on the Aquamarine Blue '79 is a one year only style only found on '79, first year 900s. It was on the EMS, GLE and GLi models. The second style shown in black and white was reserved for Turbos only in 1979. Beginning in 1980, all models wore the Turbo style grille. The photo in black and white is a 1980 Turbo. That grille was used through MY 1983.
Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
Oops, the b&w photo is a 1979 Turbo because of the seats. It is a Euro model, obviously.

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
I actually might have extra headlamp surrounds, I'll look when I can. So you want the black ones, or the grey ones?
Padden, that's awesome info, thanks for that.

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
Neil- I found a nice set of those plastic dual headlight surrounds last night in my pile, in grey. Happy to ship 'em out if Drew doesn't have a set.

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
Go ahead and send them to Neil, I found someone else to get the '79 grille from and I haven't had a chance to go through my box of trim parts yet, may not even get in the shop till next week sometime.

Re: WTB: Early 900 grille
Could someone post pics of the old bezels without the lights, i.e the ones in the first picture.
They have thinner pegs that goes in the grille right?
I was wondering if i should open up the holes more in the grilles i have, or just hunt for a pair of these old surroundings. If anyone were to get rid of a pair of old surroundings, i would be interested though. :) In that case, send me a PM.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/wink5.gif)
Thanks in advance
