looking for a 99 EMS part. Rocker panel kick thingy.

Postby bam2002 » Mon Apr 20, 2009 8:22 pm

Hello everyone.

Well I am slowing getting the car fixed up. I finished the clutch. Re painted the front fender. Put new all matching screws in the grill. Got 3 of the 4 lenes from the UK. Fixed the oil leaks, had the radiator recored about doubled in thickness. So I have been driving the car around for a few days before it get to hot here in FL.

However Now..
I am looking for the part that goes across the top of the rocker panel. When you get in the car and you kick your feet on this part. You see it when you open the door . I cant think of its name.

My drivers side one seems to be missing, I can see the brake lines running down the frame rail. So Am I missing some sort of plasic cover ? Since I dont know of any other 99s in the area I dont have another car to look at..

Thanks

Barry

sill plate. though I have no idea where to find one, or if maybe a 900 piece can be made to fit.

what year is your car? is the passenger side sill plate cover plastic or metal? If its a later car (76ish + I think) it would be metal with a black coating. If that's what it looks like a 900 one might be able to be shortened at the front to fit.

I seem to remember those plastic ones breaking a lot. If Luke doesn't have one, it may make sense to get some metal ones from a 900 at a junkyard and cut the fronts to fit the shorter 99.

I have cutting wheels etc. So if there is a way to make metal ones fit that sounds like a great plan.

But either way if some one can find the part Ill be happy to Pay Pal or send funds..

Thanks

If anyone has one sitting around, it will be Luke. Finding it on the other hand could be a bit of a task.

LOL that sounds like me and Old BMW 2002 parts. I just went over to my Exes to clean out the shed. I found a set of Webbers, A Hi perf cam still in the box, used Bielstiens. And a complete suspension. I had forgotten what was there.

So if any one finds a drivers side please let me know. I also will run over to the U pull and see if there are any 900s there.

Thanks.

Let me know if you haven't found one yet. I just finished parting out a 1975 EMS last December. I know I have both sides in my shed. The only problem is that I am in Ontario, Canada.

Cheers

Swede, yep I still need a set.
No rush , I am in Brandon FL. 33511 re if you want to figure out what shipping would be. I just had a set on Lenses sent in from the UK. I cant imagine that shipping would be that bad.

Thanks
