Window Seals and Speedometer Cable

Postby Swedepilot » Sat May 30, 2009 12:22 pm

Hello,

I am looking for a pair of replacement seals for my 2 door 1978 99L. These are the seals the "squigee" off the water as you roll down the windows. I am looking for the seal and metal rails that attach the door window sill. My have rusted out and the rubber is brittle. A significant amount of water comes into the door.

I am also looking for a new speedo cable.

Does anyone know where I can buy these?

Thanks!

Check the catalogue on http://www.skandixusa.com, they are carrying reproduction outer window scrapers in the 'body' section, $25 per side though.

Not sure where to look for speedo cables, I'd try all the usual parts suppliers, and maybe East of Sweden, Elkparts, Elite (pricey), or any local yards to you, if no one on here offers an extra one for sale.

Best,
Drew

Harvesting them from a Volvo might work for you:

The 900 speedo cable is shorter but may be possible to snake through and attach. Otherwise we probably need to get creative with a new speedo cable from something else.

A 900 speedo cable also attaches to the speedometer differently. The 99 cable screws onto the speedometer, on the 900 it clips on. We started fitting a C900 speedometer onto one of CrazySwede's 99s at one point last winter but didn't finish the job.
