Wanted: cheap / junk early C900 E-Code *housings*

Postby DrewP » Wed Jun 24, 2009 3:58 pm

I have a set of cherry e-codes to put on my modified '85 900T, but I have my FMIC plumbing routed behind the headlamps and had to cut into the stock buckets to get them to fit.

I don't want to cut up my nice (and only) set of e-codes just to find they won't fit. I'm almost positive the reflectors clear the tubing, I just need to cut reliefs into the plastic housing.

Does anyone have a junk / parts pair of early C900 e-codes, maybe with destroyed or cracked lenses (or no lenses) or icky reflectors that I can buy? Maybe you have an extra pair and just want to keep the reflectors and lenses as spares?

I don't need the sealing caps on the back, I don't even need the bulbs! I only need the grey plastic mounting buckets.

For your extra/junk set of buckets, I can pay around $35 shipped for just the mounting buckets, maybe up to ~$55 shipped for complete but junk lamps. The buckets alone could probably be nested in a smaller box for cheaper shipping.

Best,
Drew

I probably have what you need, at least one side. I will check tonight.

Make sure you seal the cuts in the buckets when you're done. Leaving those open to salt/humidity destroys the reflectors.

Thanks Luke!

It's a good thing I'm moving to LA!!! :fuckyou: <--- (Always wanted an excuse to use that one)

Thanks though, I will try to figure something out. It messes up the back of the reflector, or degrades the reflective coating from the inside?

Best,
Drew

The part you want reflective slowly becomes not-so reflective. Well, they all do that slowly but without protection from the elephants it happens at an accelerated pace.

Sprightly elephants would be bad.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on them. My reflectors are in great shape, so hopefully I can get some good life out of them.

I checked and I have one drivers side bucket, I must have thrown out the co-drivers side as it had a large crack from when I hit a deer.
Would you want just one side?

One's a start, and would at least tell me if they'll fit. Sometimes single lights pop up on eBay, or I can troll around at the Owner's Convention if I make it up there. I should have had you wait to send my shirt and thrown them in together!
