Hey all,
I picked up a parts car to, um, part out, but I got to thinking (dangerous stuff) that someone might want a complete car (well, completely taken apart).
I'm pretty sure it is an 85 SPG, it is black with an orangey tan interior, the side skirts and SPG rims. If it isn't an SPG, someone went to a lot of trouble. It is quite taken apart, and rusty in the floors and doors, but it doesn't seem to be rusty in the normal spots like under the A arms (though i need to look closer).
The engine is out and apart, and I'm not sure it can be resurrected, but the tranny moves freely.
The seats are dirty, but in pretty good shape considering. The drivers seat is the most worn.
The SPG skirts are in pretty good shape, the front bumper is off and the front end is pretty taken apart.
I don't have the title. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow. If there is any interest, email me at scottbrownjr AT gmail.
I'm in Mount Airy, MD.
Thanks

Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
How is the nose of the car? Head lights grill ect? I ant to convert my late 900 to look like an early one. Maybe I could get the whole front in one shot from you?
Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
Hi Andy,
The nose of the car is not its best feature. The previous owner took the front end apart, and while I think most of it is there (minus the radiator), I don't think its the the best starting place. I have attached some unflattering pictures, let me know what you think.
So far I have only pulled everything out of the car to see what is what, and put it back in.
There is nothing like a parts car in a messy garage to let you know what a slob you are.

The front lower section of the nose looks like it might be ok, could you get a better pic?
Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
I've always thought extra mud means extra valuable... cause its extra. Any offers? :)
Man, I'm losing money, i didn't see the heater rod.
I'll try to take a better pic of the nose this evening.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure '85 SPGs had black panels, not the grey ones. So I'd guess it's not a "real" SPG.. but who knows...

Nope. The first few '85 SPGs (built early in the model year in '84) had black panels. My dad and I both had '85 SPGs and they both had grey panels. I think they were both built in January '85.

This car is also january 85, funny.
Adding some pictures, hopefully that shows the nose a little better. If you want the larger pics, let me know and I can email.

Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
Just trying to understand here, are you parting it out at all or only trying to sell it as whole? I might be interested in a few bits and pieces if you are parting it out but definitely don't need another 900 sitting around...
Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
Hey, sorry to be unclear. The plan is to part it out, but if someone wants the whole thing before I start, I am open for that.
Thanks

Re: 1985 SPG (pretty sure)
I would be interested in the front lower fascia thing that goes behind the front bumper,(picture of it sitting in the trunk) as well as the front two spg panels. If you dont want to break up the spg kit, let me know what you want for the whole thing. might also be interested in the gauge cluster if it works.
