I do have a great running motor from a 79 900t to go into it if the guy bites the bate.

He wants to see $900 for both. I may see him at $450 for the 99T, but that price may be contingent on both going at $450 each.

$900 for a pair of pretty rough back-lot cars doesn't really sound like: "I don't want a bunch of money but something would be nice." like he had in the original ad....

Like I said, I'd love the chargecooler... and a few this & that's... but the pair isn't worth $900 to me.

Delo, I bought the 78 for $450 and the other for $300 on a secret buyer's behalf. I will let you know about the chargecooler. Maybe trade for some tinkering under the hood.

Nice save! Post some pictures of the chargecooler. Just curious to see what it is. Abbott used to sell one for 900s but I don't know that it would fit in the 99T engine bay.

$450 seems like a good deal if the core is solid, the rear quarters look a bit soft, but thats all 900 sheet metal anyway, so not the end of the world. Its great to see people taking some initiative to bring these back to life.
As for the 99's at harrys, they are gone now. I was there twice while they were there and really couldnt figure out much to take off them, pretty rough in every way. The '77 had a chillcast box, but I couldnt motivate myself to pull it, I guess I wanted my $80 more than I wanted an old grimey gearbox..

I am not sure what it is either, the physical shape of the unit appears similarly shaped the lotus esprit turbo charge cooler, but it should be pretty apparent if it is one of those cause it should say it all over the thing... I have seen the 900 jobs, it isn't one of those I don't think.
I figure most likely it is a period correct performance item out of some catalog, maybe summit or jegs, who knows. If it's not busted internally (which I understand can be quite common with old charge-coolers) it's pretty interesting.
Can anyone else spot some period performance parts? Hint, one obvious thing has to do with the fuel system.

Euro-spec/Volvo Turbo fuel distributor
Big bore throttle body (Weber?)
"Cold Air Intake" (dryer hose in wheel well)
Also has air conditioning and SAAB dealer-installed cruise control (?).
What are the two gold cylinders near the AC compressor?
That charge cooler location looks pretty idea, on top of the turbo...
Where is the battery? Is the battery cooler still installed and cooling the outside of the charge cooler?

Yeah, aside from the rear seat in the SPG and some this and that's in the suspension, this looks like something new and fun. First step is get the wheels and tires and get them fresh rubber.

Also guys, keep an eye out for a decent 99 hatch is any color. I am going to grab a black 900 one I think I remember seeing the other week. Bummer is I am on the 1st of my 10 day work rotation so I can't get to a yard till at least Wed the 9th.
Anybody know if a c900 hatch can fit in a 9-5 wagon?
