Ten 99s for sale

Postby V4_guy » Fri Aug 17, 2012 10:28 am

This randomly showed up in my email box this morning:

I have a collection of 99's I'd give to a good home. Know of anybody. Ten or so in upstate NY.

So I replied back and got more info:

The cars were in pretty good shape when we got them, along with a ton of parts. Came from Robert ---- in CT. He was moving to FL and couldn't take them with him. His son was getting his house and was going to junk them. [shutter] Unfortunately, they have been sitting in weeds.

We got some stuff from Lighthouse Motors when he went out of business(Brewster, NY)

So my brother-in-law and I stored them in my field maybe ten years now. He has since past away and I can't afford to do right by them. They are still on wheels but I can't speak for the tires being any good. I did get one out for a man in western MA but haven't got it to him yet.

So yeah, put my email out there. We got them for the cost of haulin' them away and that's the way they can go back out!

The seller's name is Scott Nichols and his email is argyle_scott@hotmail.com.

I'm in no way connected with these cars or seller, just thought I'd pass it along to all of you 99 guys on here.

I feel like this has popped up before? It looks familiar. Anyone available to go take a look?

If someone has the time and the space they could part out each car, catalogue and supply the parts to many owners who want onesy twoseys. They'd probably do fairly well for themselves once they get the cars out the weeds.

The amount of fuel alone it would take me to get those cars would snuff out any profits there...

I might want to take a look still if the owner is willing to part some stuff out.

Not likely. Thats a lot of time and energy to haul them out... could be about 3000 scrap value

Just the metal, right? Okay, plus the $4000 (or less) for the grilles and headlamp cans based on ebay prices. Most
rubber would likely be gone on the outside though the windshield rubbers and glass are worth something .. what
else is worth parting and cataloging?
