They make good moorings for your boat...
...just tie a chain with a bouy to it, and roll it overboard.

We found a lot of performance parts to make those boat anchors hold the dock in place better.

Re: Triumph Engine
I guess I was trying to preserve a classic motor by trying to find someone to give the one out of my 71 a new home. Spent over a year advertising it til I found someone who wanted it.
The price was free, just come get it.
Maybe it was the automatic trans bolted to it that made it undesireable...

What's this spout deal? Oil fill? I see there isn't an oil fill cap on the cam cover.
(I'm hoping it's actually something more nefarious / more stupid)

Not sure but I just yanked that out of the engine in my 71. It has its own cap and is multichambered if I remember correctly. Sort of like an oil swirl tank or seperator. We decided to keep it for making something in the future. The rest of the engine will go to the scrap man. Interesting thing about the triumph engine is that I believe the adjusters for the rockers are on the outside of the head vs under the valve cover.

I want that motor if you're really dumping it.

A friend of mine who had a couple of early 99s back in the day said those Triumph engines also have weird head studs (not bolts) that are at an angle so you have to remove one row of them before you can pull the head. They have slots at the top for using a big flat head screwdriver to screw them out. It's a good thing Saab dumped this motor after a few years.

If you really twist Seth's arm he might trade you for that MSS bmotor you have.

Re: Triumph Engine
I wonder if they would accept the 16valve triumph head. That might be a better trade

Re: Triumph Engine
That thingy sticking up is the oil filler tube, IIRC.
I ran a 72 1.85 engine for 4 or 5 years, and it didn't give me much trouble, but parts were more difficult to find than the 2.0, so I upgraded. The only issue I had was it overheated easily in the summer in stop and go traffic.
I couldn't give the engine away, so it got hauled off to the junk yard (so i guess i did give it away).
I remember having one mechanic call me a masochist for running it. :)

I wish my car had winter mood technology.
Re: Triumph Engine
I also sort of remember you didn't have to take the studs out to get the head off, you unbolted the nut at the top of the stud and left them in place. It was kind of nice, you had guides when placing the head back on the block.

There was a thread about this a while back. I seem to remember that it would (?)

Re: Triumph Engine
I have heard a few stories about taking those heads off with a hacksaw.
