Rose quarts cars almost always have clear coat failure, so part of it is just the fact that there are so many re-paints out there... Color match is not an exact science for the average joe Look at the dealer advertizements from the period, and you get an idea of the right shade of pink.
Less brake more gas!

Maybe Im confusing citrin beige and rose quartz? I think some of the pinks almost pass for the other.

Amaranth Red was a rare color that I've only seen on 4 door turbos for '84 - it was fairly pink.

Citrin beige is a lot closer to a light gold. there were two shades of rose quartz as I recall..one was a much stronger shade of pink as I recall.
