I'm always more worried about theft of stuff in the car. My sister left my dad's '94 c900TC on the side of the road one day to go tubing down the river with friends. Numbskull left her purse right on the back seat in plain view. They broke a window to get it for the $15 cash she had and threw the rest of her stuff in the river. At least they didn't rip thru the top, but just the window cost him like $300 to replace. I usually leave mine unlocked with nothing inside - figure its better than them ripping the top or breaking a window to get in. But then I have known thieves who would look specifically for unlocked cars to rob and vandalize because they figured you deserved it if you kept your car unlocked.

I don't usually lock my car (don't want my tinted windows smashed) tho I'd be pissed if my speakers or SAAB got jacked .. but I figure any dumb tweaker who hopped in probably wouldn't be able to find the ignition anyway

A buddy had his 900 broken into. They took his cd wallet and used a pry bar to remove his head unit.

The radio was about 125.00, the Cds worth a few hundred.

They destroyed the door, and lock/latch, and decimated the dash/fascia to get the radio out.

Moral of the story... make it easy for them to get in and steal the radio stuff... it's cheaper than the stuff around it.

Real Bummer. Hope it is found intact! Hate to have to worry about theft of any kind. We never lock the Vert or leave anything of value in it but outright theft of the car is possible. Might be time to start pulling coil wires, a critical relay, a hidden kill switch or even more devious means. Happy New Year to all...

Good news, the car was recovered mostly intact. :yay:
It's such a clean SPG, I was hating the thought of it being trashed.

Caveat emptor. If this seller says it has virtually no rust it has rust. I've had experience...
