The price on the blue 96 is not climbing...first time it came up listed near $40000...been dropping since. $241 is more in line with where it might sell.

Yes it was $39k. At one time owned by the same individual who was selling the 1974 EMS on the auction site a couple of weeks ago. I saw the rally works V4 in person a few years ago while being serviced by the person who bought it from him and if that is your thing, it's very nice.

Our Swedish friends have indicated that the car is the wrong color to fetch the high Saab collector price. because the factory never ran a blue car the car has a lot less value. If the car were the proper red or indian summer yellow it likely would have fetched the higher price to someone across the pond. For a clean 96 vintage rally car with a considerable amount of the S&R catalog installed in it I think $20,000 would be a deal....unfortunately if you were to want to use it in a modern rally it would need a whole new cage and new safety equipment.

I tracked a nice replica of the 76 rally sweden car and the asking price converted to about 30k. No idea if it was sold at that but it hasn't come back up since.
