Other than the giant slice of bologna that must have been sitting on the hood for a few years, the paint looks pretty good on that! And what's up with the interior? Seats look tan

It seems to me that more 99Ts get parked than any other SAAB. The old turbos were heavy and people didn't idle them down before they shut them off so they failed often and were expensive. The manifolds crack and are hard to find. The power and high torque they put out destroyed gearboxes. And then there's the waterpump that everyone is afraid of. But they're a neat somewhat rare car so people don't like to just scrap them.

I spy a garden hose. Nothing makes paint look better than that fresh wet look It looks like those are tan seat covers. Its extremely rare to see unrestored '78-'79 Turbo or EMS front seats that aren't worn and torn. They just don't hold up well.

hmm hadn't thought those issues, makes sense. I do see a lot that have all been off the road for years.
The $2000 turbo in castle rock above also seems to have non-standard seats.
If this PDX one doesn't have good interior/parts I won't bother, not sure an iffy motor and a spare trans are worth $1200, but if the guy responds to me I'll go check it out next week.

If anyone is interested in it let me know, I'll scope it for you. I'm more interested in a spare notchback now that I have some negative info about the feasibility of swapping/adapting the turbo motor to my standard B.

The wife decided another saab would be an act of war. I contacted the guy, and he said he could get the title. It has about 270K on it, and was in use until about 2005.
