I drove up to Dan's last Saturday ... Tons of parts.
I left with a 1980 99 4-spd (without trans cover ), a 1980 900 ems 5-speed, and a broken 87 900 turbo trans with a clutch thrown in for free.
Worth the drive
He's also selling a 900 notch for like 600 and had a 900 hatch for sale too

94 convertible, pretty cool. Would the SPG skirts have been added or stock that year? What wheels are those?

Those convertible SPG skirts only came stock on like 288 Springtime in Sweden convertibles in 1988 and about 600 900 Special edition convertibles in 1991. The dealer may have installed them on some cars, but those were most likely installed by a previous owner. Looks great though!
The rims were 9000 aero rims from a 1990-1992 9000 turbo. Best looking Saab rims out there in my opinion. Looks like a great buy! Too bad it's not Monte Carlo Yellow!

SPG panels were added, I agree. The bumper extensions look like stock 900 in front and 3-door SPG rear, not the correct ones for the convertible. I would have said the wheels were from 91 and 92 only 9000.

This is an interesting car which is for sale locally in Hungary, but for an insane price given the condition of the car (about USD 8500). I read about these - special edition 900 i (non-turbo) for the Swiss market, which came from the dealer with full extras. I can't tell if the leather interior is original or not - have never seen anything like it before. The car looks really cool in real life (I happened to be passing where this car was for sale and stopped). The air flow kit looks fantastic on the two door. If this car were 25% of the price and not an automatic, I would consider purchasing it for the novelty factor. By the way, this even had cool factory installed rear window blinds that I had never seen before for a two door (which tended to be the most pedestrian of 900s). Also, seems to have every extra offered in the Saab accessory catelog of the time. Although the car seems to be rust free, one of the doors was very badly painted and the car generally seems very tired....a shame.

Kind of odd, often times (well, years ago now) - you would see a dealer option out base base model 2.0's or 2.1 liter non turbo with the full dresser air-flow kit & SPG panels. There is one like this, which apparently was done up by some local dealership in Allentown that I still see from time to time at the Newringgold parking lot. base-ass model car, no sunroof, crank windows, 2.1 liter automatic, but with a full SPG kit and air-flow bumpers. Come on, put all that stuff on a worthy car!

I heard that the dealers were doing that to move the less desirable product.
Put some lipstick on those base model cars that didn't sell to try and move them off the lot.

I've seen a lot of Airflow kits on S/Base model. People care more about the show, than they do the go.
Re: Craigslist / Fleabay / Blocket.se / Kijiji / Thread
Funny Story: Talked recently to the original owner of a '91 Monte Carlo SE Vert who was offered $1000 cash from the dealer to have it re-painted a different color in case they did not like yellow.

Actually, this is a little different. From what I understand this was a package put together by the Swiss importer specifically for the Swiss market. For some reason the importer opted not to include the turbobut to include automatic. This is not a case of a dealer offloading base models, but was a special production run of 200 or so cars from what I understand built to the special specifications of the Swiss importer. To be honest, the body and interior really worked. The engine. And transmission were a problem in my view, but maybe it was non turbo for insurance/tax reasons? And remember that automatic in Europe in the early 80s was a true luxury option and expensive at that.
