You're probably right that some of the European versions were for tax reasons, but I have also heard from former dealership people here in the US that the dealers would sometimes install that Airflow kits onto cars they already had on the lot (since you could still get the kits as an accessory) to try to move them. It's hard to say what really happened by now, and that mysterious history has always amused me.

I've never heard of that Swiss edition before, that's really cool.

I've also never seen the early pattern seats re-upholstered like that in leather, they look pretty good! In the US we stopped getting those style seats in 1983 or 1984, I didn't know they kept putting them in cars for other markets later than that. (Unless there's an explanation in Hungarian that I just can't read!)

If any of you are considering bidding on this silver SPG clone, pipe up so we don't compete against each other. I am seriously considering getting back into a C900 for a daily and doing something with my 9-5, and this is exactly the look I would want. Plus I could take a trip out to Chicago to visit a few people. The distance from me is the only thing turning me off about it.

Always surprises me to see classic SAABs on Craigslist that I don't recognize from shows/races/conventions but I guess some old folks just hold onto their cars and aren't into the 'scene'
