Only a real enthusiast would take the car anyway (advertised year is wrong etc etc) and only if the seller gives the car to the enthusiast for free given its list of usual Saab 900 issues ...

I keep looking at that 1970 99 on the bay. Interesting that the hood badge says SAAB 99E but it has a Stromberg carb. Wonder why. I also found it on BAT from July where it was listed on CL for $3900. Not that the owner now can't ask double what he's asking if he wants. And he may have invested a lot more into it. Also, looking at '70 brochure, it should have a cloth interior on surfaces and vinyl on sides and back, not the vinyl it has. I still like it a lot.

That 5 door looks pretty straight, and I see no visible signs of rust. And it's right hand drive too...

Seems worth a grand to me.

The 70 is a beauty.... but yeah, at this point a 78 is gonna need 10K for sure... I honestly put in maybe 13k into my 77 project and I stil have a few things to get powercoated and installed... gahh.. but I love driving that thing.. .so much better than when I picked it up for $425.. haha

The 83 900t has rust holes here and there. Near mirrors and on hood. Looks nice otherwise. There was a dealer in the '81-'85 era on N Federal Highway in Ft. lauderdale that had a small inventory and no showroom and formally sold non-commercial Checkers.
