I've had a couple requests lately to do another run of the special rally shifters so I wanted to open a dialog to gauge interest.
If I can get 4-5 people to commit i'd happily setup to run a batch of these.
This is a revised version that is designed to allow easier bolt on installation.
If I can get 5 people the price will be $395 each, which I realize is not cheap, but I am using top quality materials and that is the majority of the cost.
I know Swedesport wanted one, Pascal expressed interest and a few others as well.
Respond here or PM if there is interest!
This is what the new design looks like:

I'm definitely in.
I would need to shaft and U joints as well.

What is needed for the shift rod? I remember something about it being mentioned, as a recommendation.

IIRC, the ujoints are just the rubber covered ones you can get from most race hardware suppliers, and I can't remember if the shaft is metal or carbon fiber.

The shifter rod can be done in a couple ways. The best way is to use military Apex joints at both ends. People have gotten by using an apex joint at only the shifter end and the stock SAAB rubber joint at the gearbox end and had good results too and also some people have used the V4/99 shifter universals with success as well.

I would assume you could supply the necessary bits for extra $$$$.

I'm in as well, interested in total price with extra hardware if possible.
Re: Motorsport Shifters - Group Buy
So based on the response, I'm looking into offering the linkage as well. The name brand Apex joint in the correct size, which are the preferred method and what I use in both rally cars, now retail for $109 each, and we'd need two, that's without the tubing and hardware to assemble into a linkage.
These used to be available in the military surplus market, but it seems those days are over.
I contacted a supplier to see if I can come up with another option for a bit less and I think I might to get some booted joints around $60/per.
For those on a tight budget but rich in old SAAB parts, cobbling together a linkage with the 96/99 style joints will remain the best option most likely.

Are booted joints necessary on the inboard end of the shaft? Certainly the way to go on the one exposed to the elements, but the one inside the car is not going to get wet. Or at the least is not going to get all grimy.
Just a thought.

No, but the boot only adds about $10

Re: Motorsport Shifters - Group Buy
What size is the shaft on the shifter? I don't mind spending some time searching the used market for some of those joints. A quick ebay search did yield some apex joints, not many, but might get lucky.
Also, where did you get the boot in your car for the shift shaft?

I think 3/4" OD tubing works. Grommet might be one of these? I forget http://shop.a1racing.com/firewallgrommets.aspx
