So I am just going to just post this and see if anyone is interested as I am not doing anything with these cars and I don't think I will be in the foreseeable future as I have a couple other project cars that are taking priority over these, would like to see someone in the Saab community do something with them rather than have them keep languishing away.
So I have two '78 99's one is a 5 door from California a few years back no rust very solid. The other is a very rusty and best used as a parts car coupe that I converted to a 16v n/a with a 5 speed that I never finished i got it running and driving but then decided it was a waste of time as the car has rust in structural places.
5 Door:
Currently has an automatic in it but I have a four speed gearbox that goes with it the clutch pedal and shift linkage are already installed. I have everything needed to convert it except the clutch kit.
I have the original hatch to go with it as well but it had rust in the bottom corners so I threw a rust free 900 hatch on it
Currently doesn't run it did last fall, I tried briefly this spring cranks over fine but the fuel pump doesn't run I assume it needs one.
I crudely painted it orange with rustoleum paint as all the original paint was baked off of it and I didn't want it to rust, shouldn't be hard to sand the orange off as it's already started to flake off in places
Red Coupe:
Very rusty
nice interior
I would like to keep the engine and trans from this car as the 5 speed trans was rebuilt by saab and only has like 10k +/- miles on it. I also put a brand new clutch kit in it when i did the conversion and it hasn't been used other than to drive it around the driveway.
Currently housing my hoard of old Saab parts but I can remove them very easily just need to get around to doing it.
Has fuel pump for orange 99!
Brand new front calipers on it, been sitting a couple years but I am sure they are fine as I drove it around last fall.
So I am sure I am forgetting a lot of details but ask away with questions. Cars will need to be towed away, I am located in Cabot, VT. I don't really know what a fair price is so I'll just say $1750 OBO for the pair, less if I can keep the drivetrain from the red coupe!
Thanks, Chip
P.s. I can take more pics of anything you want to see

Ugh, really want the 5 door, but I just can't justify the haul all the way up there with the truck and trailer at the moment.

Looks like I'll have to pass on the 5 dr Chip, I began tearing into my '77 while in Colchester, and as usual it's worse than expected, I'm going to need to replace front lower and upper A arms and do floor and door rust work I wasn't prepared to have to do... if they aren't cracked, I can use the headlight surrounds, grille, and driver side front turn signal and front calipers from the red car if you do part it, also driver side door if not rusted, and maybe some other stuff, let me know if you do, thnx Roger A.

No worries Roger! I'll most certainly probably just part the red car out when the time comes but I want the orange 99 gone to a good home before I do that as I don't want to end up with the orange 99 and decide to restore it and then not have any parts to do so with.
Also price drop $800 OBO someone give this thing a good home!

I really want to keep the drivetrain as the transmission only had 10k miles on it since it was rebuilt by Saab....That being said if somebody wanted the whole thing as a pair with the red car as it sits with the 900 drivetrain I'd let it go for $1400
