c900 Trailer Hitch

Postby hutch » Mon Apr 28, 2014 6:41 pm

I took some pictures of this hoping to swap some c900 parts with someone but that fell through so I figured I'd see if anyone else were interested in this. I've never used this but it was a leftover from one of my dad's 900's he had in the early 90's. This appears to be a 3 piece unit whereas a lot of the ones I see now are 1 piece, no idea if this is a good or bad thing but thought it should be pointed out. I don't have all the hardware to this so you'll certainly need some nuts and bolts to fit it to the car and it appears to have been repainted as there as bits of newspaper sticking to black paint  I would rate it about a 7/10 on the cosmetic front but I also thought no one would really care as it sits underneath the car. Oh and you cant take the hitch ball off so this will always stick out from the bumper. Anyway, on to the pictures:

I'd like to get $50+ shipping or I'd really love to trade this for a set of c900 manual window rollers but that is probably a very tall order. Let me know if there is any interest or these will go back into the pile of random parts.

Haha I can imagine! One of the many reasons I've never used this thing...

That is the same hitch that is on my 86 SPG that pulled eight of the nine 99s out of the field in Argyle and retrieved the 72 99 4-door. I probably have those manual window rollers that you want. When do you want to come to my pick-n-pull/boneyard? Bring the hitch when you come.

I've towed a 99 with the shin-breaker hitch on my car too, solid accessory there.

I have that hitch on my 900. It is designed for an earlier 900. My '88 required cutting a square slot in the bumper to mount up. It clears beneath the earlier bumpers without cutting. This is a very strong mount. Have used it extensively and came in handy this winter when I went into the ditch. A truck yanked me out of the snow backwards with the hitch. No damage! ( Shins: You run into it once and then you remember )
