I ordered a radiator for my 74 from Ebay, only to have the order cancelled as they don't have any. I ordered a second one from another vendor to have the same thing happen.
<RANT> WHY do you list items you don't have??????????!!!!!!!!!!! </RANT>
Does anyone have any recommendations where to get a radiator? The two i have both leak, and i'm tired of messing around with them, its time to get a new one and have one less worry.
Thanks!

if you want to remain stock you could send your radiators out for repair. There is a guy I have sent moto radiators to called Mylers that does good work. If you dont care about stock you can probably find a modern aluminum one that will work. Also with a little modification to the engine bay you can fit a 900 radiator.

Re: Saab 99 radiator
I had 2 of those new a few years ago, sold one to a guy on here, and kept one for my 99.

Re: Saab 99 radiator
I'm not worried about it remaining stock, so if anyone can point me to an aftermarket aluminum one, I'm game. I don't want to go the route of modifying the engine bay, but I'm willing to be convinced if the argument is sound.

So, um, what does it take to fit a 900 radiator?

Re: Saab 99 radiator
Search the internet for Aluminum radiators...look for your size dimensions and pipe configurations.
To fit a 900 my recollection is you have to notch some ribs in the engine bay. Pull the old rad out and slide the 900 in and you should see the places of conflict...also if you have an aluminum 900 radiator you might find someone who can make customers end tanks to fit the 99

Re: Saab 99 radiator
To put the 900 radiator in you need to trim the side mounts out of the 99 radiator support. You also have to cut about 1/2 of the high beam bucket out (function of the light remains the same and you don't interfere with the headlights).
You need to trim the upward-protruding pieces of the upper mounting brackets off the 900 radiator (the part with the bushings). Then you'll want to mount it by bending some brackets that go between the radiator support and the 900 radiator. You can put a screw through the remaining part of the 900 upper mounting brackets.
You can usually find something soft to stick in place on the bottom to cushion it a little.
The radiator outlet will be on the bottom so you'll want to use a different radiator hose. You can usually get a 900 lower hose to work, I think it may need to be shortened a little.

Re: Saab 99 radiator
Hi Scott, for my 99 rally car i used a 900s or 9/3 radiator and cut the plastic tanks off, removed the bottom plate and cut three rows of core off the bottom. made my own tanks from alloy extrusions purchased from my local alloy supplier. The outlets can be made up from old slave cylinder internals and all welded up. Works a treat and not that expensive!
