Anybody have a passenger exterior mirror in decent shape or a brown drivers side door panel that's in good shape?

lemmeno.

I might have a brown door panel I'll have to check. Don't have any later 99 mirrors. Cheapo teardrop autoparts store ones are light and look just like the original EMS mirrors. Thats what I have on the rally car. I seem to whack one off on a branch nearly every rally.

cool, thanks. I had a few tiny dots of welding spatter on the mirror (not enough to really notice, unless you're weird) but I tried to use a razor blade to clean it off...and oddly enough, that scratched the glass---must be softer glass than the normal window stuff.

I'll be keeping the door panels, even with the cage...so a nicer one would be cool.

Luke, any luck with that door panel?

I'm still also looking for a mirror..

also, does anyone have (or can get) a set of four of those black plastic fender trims from pre-87 Saab 900s?

I checked and the only brown panels I have are the nicer EMS ones that unfortunatly almost always interfer with a modern cage and would also require door latch relocation.

EMS door panels: are those the hard type like on a 900?

Any idea where to find those little black plastic fender flare-lets that are on 900s? our junkyard doesn't have any good ones. and it seems like a good way to finish off the lips where my welding wasn't exactly factory-like

the best way to fix that is to buy some of those flares like Luke has on his car!

Agreed, rally flares! I rip all those little black trim pieces off my street cars because I think they trap water near the seams and contribute to rust. The EMS panels are just like a 900 except the door latch is in a different position.

I take some wax from a toilet bowl gasket, put it deep into the black plastic fender lip covers, and slip them on. It keeps moisture and all other nasties away.

That's close to what I was going to do (heavy duty wax-oil corrosion inhibitor) and slip the plastic lips on. Frankly, I think the rally flares look a little too butch for me.

without the SPG panel those would only cover like 2/3 of the lip though

Yeah but don't they kind of fade into the body? or is there a space without panels? I've never tried fitting them without panels...

Dude, I race a MINI too, what the hell do you expect? When Kim had a Beetle, I wanted to put Daisies on it. Daisies with Hoosiers...all right!

Anyway, I'll go to the junkyard tomorrow on the hunt the early 900 plastic lips.
