Just watched a 1978 99 turbo auction end with a price of $27,500.

I bet I could drum up some proper headlights for the new owner for 10% of the purchase price.

Holy crap, I'm shocked it went that high! :-O

My boss used to own 99's and 900s back in the heyday and was following that auction while I was trying to convince him to bid on it, thats some serious money for that car!!

I am happy it sold for so much. Gives hope that the value of our old cars is increasing.

I don't know... part of me says that it's neat that some of these cars are selling for big $. The other part of me says that if market prices get driven up many of the long-time enthusiasts get driven out of the market or feel like they can't drive the cars they already have because they're suddenly worth too much.

Good thing we all have rusty dented ones to use for drivers!
