Welcome! Whereabouts do you live? I'm in LA, and there are several members here up in OR and WA.

Cool! You should plan to be at the Maryhill Hillclimb come September!

Hey, I recognize that Talle' Red! That's the old RadioFlyerII. Glad to see Joanie let you keep the refinished super aeros and the red mirrors.

Yep, the Flyer aka 'Bad Boy' is running strong with super aeros and red mirrors thanks to the distraction of the '92 black-on-tan turbo Vert! ;-) The '93 just got SPG springs and Koni reds and SPG panel installation is next. They all got blue denso's, 2.8FPR's and tweaked APC's. Getting hard to choose...

Re: New West Coast Member - Hello!
No kidding! What do you think of the injectors? Should I find a set for the SE? Glad those super aeros are holding up. I bought those for $100 from a guy who couldn't figure out how to fit them on his VW and sanded them down by hand.

Hi Sam:
The 24# F2LE (F55E) Ford Blue Denso's improve drive-ability, idle smooth and linked with a mildly tweaked APC and 2.8 FPR provide decent performance and fuel economy. One nice thing about them is they are widely available and reasonably priced. They are definitely better than the stock yellow tops they replaced but those were all over 20 years old and 200k+ miles so maybe not a fair test. We're not into extreme HP with any of our c900t's to save transmissions so guys on here with more aggressive set-ups (does this describe you?) may find them anemic. Hah!

Re: New West Coast Member - Hello!
Thanks Bill! Mild to medium modifications on most of my cars. I usually go for tasteful, Saab original or catalog accessory stuff. On some cars I've dabbled with professionally modified parts like from SPG9, Group6, Swidish Dynamics, and Jak Stoll. I think it depends on the car. Some I love just as they rolled out of the factory.
That red SPG of yours was the highest performance car I've had - it came with red top injectors, magnecor wires, 3.0bar FPR, and a few other things. Worked great for a short time. I added the professionally tuned Red Box APC, and Jak Stoll EPROM, and adjusted the base boost accordingly and things balanced out. She FLEW! A friend once showed up with a modified Subaru WRX, and we swapped cars for the afternoon. His had about the same amount of power as the SPG. We both came back impressed. But mine was at least 20 years older and a lot more character.
If that car hadn't had a gremlin in it, I probably would have kept modifying it. But those mods only lasted about a week before the car started dying on decel and acting like it had a gigantic vacuum leak. I took it back to stock and still couldn't figure it out. Glad you got it sorted. It's a gorgeous car and highly capable. Some days I really miss it.

Would have been interesting to drive with all that stuff Sam - it is still plenty fast enough. I might try the Red Box or factory SPG box just for kicks but I doubt they are any better than the one I tweaked. It isn't being used as a daily driver since the '93 c900t Hatch SPG clone is getting along pretty well now. All good stuff...
Re: New West Coast Member - Hello!
Today just added a '91 Monte Carlo SE to the fleet. The '91 Beryl went to Norway for a full restore. Time for another pic soon!
