Thought I'd post up some pic's & introduce myself.

Hello all, Dave from Seattle Wa. Owner operator of Scanwest's Complete Collision. A sister company to Scanwest Autosport. which I'm sure a bunch of you know of. See if I can post up some pic's of past & present car's.

First up, 76 99 Running a H race motor. off center bushed rod's w/ VW pistons, Custom grind cam & head work. Have quite a few group 2 trophy's from this one.

Present ongoing project, 85 Notchback 16 Valve turbo conversion. pushin over 300hp

My old 86 SPG RBLT motor using H motor pistons, Custom ground cams, aluminum flywheel. & did a 88 & later suspension upgrade.

A buddy / employee's 87 SPG we did all the bodywork & painted it a custom color.

& the wifes old 87 SPG

A guy named John McArthur has # 900. A google search shows no results since the mid 90's. As I understand it the numbers only stand while you are active or nobody else has requested the number, maybe worth a inquiry to see if you could get it.

A GUY??? McArthur was the ProRally Chief Steward for several years.

#900 was also used on the Scanwest factory-backed Gp.5 900 one year.

And, yes, if you are not a current member of Rally America, you are at risk of losing your reserved number. I'm surprised nobody has glommed onto my #599 since I haven't used it since 1999.

Mr. Winker, How are you ? long time no see ! or talk. . . & yep, same thing happen to me. . . lost my 258 number. last rally I ran they gave me Mr. Dave White's old #. 235 which, good thing I'm not Superstitious . . seein he's not around anymore.

Anyway, to just be in the company of both Mr Tennis's is an honor in itself. Sean is not only one helleva Saab master mechanic. but twice the driver most could ever aspire to be. This is a guy who after crashing very badly, & not racing for some 5-6+ yr's came out in his ol 1980 99 . . .all 112hp & 112lb st of torque . . . .& took group 2 clean. both the younger Tennis & myself were both running that event as well.

a replacement for the 900 in the above picture is fairly close to being done. need to take it up to Calgary Ca to have the injection tuned. by all calculations we should be around 250hp . . NA. but we'll see. have underdrive chains I may throw in just to see the look on the dyno guys face.

good to see others are still putting old 99 together & getting out there & having fun. 99's are the only car I never needed a rear brake fly off handle. but, U do suffer some stability at the high end compared to the 900's. . . .best fun to be had was running a bone stock 78 99 w/ 160K on the odo. always started, always ran, always had the Same amount of power. took a few production class trophy's . . . .& had a blast. we got put 3rd out on the road behind (dang, can't think of his name) Tim, he ran the black AWD Audi . . .he was from here.(washington) . . .anyway, I spoke up & asked what the h*ll they were thinking, at which point he thanked me & said he'd hate to of had to run me down. OH H*LL NO . . . .decided we'd let him past at the beginning of the second stage. To his surprise he Never saw our tail lights ! take that b**ch ! lol
