Greetings from the Netherlands! (900 Aero T5.5'd and more)

Postby Krizzie » Thu Feb 11, 2016 12:07 pm

Hi there!

I've been lurking here unregistered for quite some time now and I love the crazy projects that are going on here. Following them is a lot easier when you're registered so here I'am! :eyebrows:

Of course I have my own project which is my MY91 900 "S".

I guess some of you will recognize it from other Saabforums or Facebook. :P

I hope to learn and see new things here which I can use on my own Saab!

Beautiful car!

I haven't seen yours before, how did you get the tilt mechanism into the 9000 Aero seats?? Is the upholstery just fitted to a 900 seat frame?

Welcome!

Basically the folding seats and non folding seats are the same, so if you drill the rivits and cut the welds you can switch the non folding seatback with the folding one.

For 9000 Aero seats you also need to cut the extra braces and reweld them on the folding 900 frame.

All in all an afternoons work if you know how to use a grinder and know how to weld. ;)

Thanks!

They also work a lot better at night than the stock candles do. ;)

Wow, that thing looks perfect! You Dutch seem to not only love your Saabs but have some amazing examples....

Any more details on the projectors? I've never seen those pulled off well on a c900 but have always wanted a set since the stock (especially US market) ones are terrible by modern standards. Do you have a build thread of the car on another forum? I'd love to check it out.

The projectors are pretty straight forward. You can order them from http://www.retrofitlab.com I would suggest using EU spec lights since they open up a lot easier than US ones. And you can add height adjustment from inside the car which you will need if have loads or people in the back.

And thanks! There are some real gems driving here. But I must be fair, mine still needs a lot work. The pictures make it look a lot better than it is. :P
