Yep it's a 9000 one.. Luckily the guy I bought it from is willing to take it back with a refund. (Even though I had it on the shelf for over a year.. )
On the other hand my mechanic found out that one of the (Not sure what the english word for it is.. Inner driver?) axles that holds the diff in place was worn out (even though I didn't notice this yet while driving) so that is getting replaced. This would probably have been overlooked since it's the engine that needs replacing and not the box.

That is good he will take it back. It would make a sad looking desk piece.

Maybe Jordan will comment, he has modified a 9000 Quaife to be used in a 900 transmission. I have a 9000 Quaife that may get modified also.

The guy I bought it from also claimed it came out of a 900, but I don't see how that is possible, unless he drove without a working speedo? (racecar?)

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
I seem to remember early 9000 Quaifes being really cheap at one point - maybe 1/2 the price of a C900 Quaife?
Anyway, I got curious and found what Jordan said he did to get the early 9000 diff into the C900

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
Thanks for the info!
If you can do those things at home and can spare a diff or two (in case you mess up) it would be a good try. But I can't do this at home and have to pay for it, so I rather not mess things up here.
None of this was planned so it's costly enough already.

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
Picked it up last weekend, I'm so happy I can drive again! (It's my only car)
The new engine feels so light on the throttle, it revs so happy (not higher than 3500rpms and low boost for the first 1000 miles or so.. ) but pulls really well, even when the turbo isn't spooling it feels very torquey!
Unfortunately without the LSD, but that might still happen in the future.

That looks like an early 9000 unit. It can be modified to fit, but it isn't a direct swap. (Sorry I'm Late ) :)

It's no problem, I'll return it and get a refund.
Maybe in the future when I get a rebuilt box I will install the right one.

Gave it a good clean today! (been a few months..) Usually you freeze to death here in this time of year, but it was like an early spring day today, so a good time to remove the layer of dirt and salt!

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
Hey, the forums live again!
Haven't done much to my 900 since my last post.
The biggest upgrades are a new intake setup with a GFB dumpvalve and a custom Type 9 primary set.
Have to make some new pics from the intake..
The type 9 (34/22 tooth)
Rpms in 5th at 120kph on GPS
Also installed a set of 9-3og horns, one of the two original ones died and the other was in the way of the intercooler pipes. Had to bend the bracket a bit but it's a thight but free hanging fit!
Maybe the smallest thing I changed.. I thought my Alternator had died, but it was the wire going to it from the starter..

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
"#9" primaries? cool! Have you had it up to 4400rpm in 5th gear yet?
Can I ask how much it cost to build the custom set?

Re: Krizzie's white 900 Aero
No I haven't I would be speeding by quite a lot then.
4th gear is 3500rpm at the same speed, which is about the same as a type 6 primary in 5th would do.
Here's a quick video:

The set was about €1100,- (excluding a new bearing and installation)

You're just shy of 300kph at 6500rpm, according to the company that makes them. Not sure if I want to test that out though..
