Well I know the turbo exhausts had 1 muffler while the non turbo cars had two. I think the turbo exhaust was also larger in diameter.

I ran a NA car for a while with a 2.1 head pipe and a turbo exhaust the rest of the way.... hollow cat. It was so nice that I considered writing a song about it.

My 8 valve NA runs a mss header, into a summit bullet muffler, then 2- 1/4 center pipe. Cherry bomb (flowmaster copy) and out thru an 85 16v Turbo tailpipe. I was running no cat but it was obnoxious. I'd set off car alarms everywhere. That's about as big as I would expect to see on an 8v. I have 3 inch on my 85 16v Turbo. You could assemble an exhaust system on the cheap. If you need any pieces I have a few stock downpipes, and center pipes. I think I even have a few Turbo tailpipes sitting around. You would have to fit a muffler, and cat. Iirc the 2.1 cat was the same as a Turbo unit?

How many pieces is the exhaust in Seth? I'm still interested.

thats the problem...its in 1 piece and it doesn't look like its going to come apart easily. If you want to drive the new car up here one weekend we could use the lift in Chris's shop and put it on.

I guess I was trying to avoid putting on a temporary exhaust. Worst case if you don't want to come out, I'd cut it up to bring home in my other car and weld it back together. Do you have any pics of it now? Or maybe Joshie could bring it down for some delicious treats and salacious girls... (girls not included).

Just Hodgpodge a muffler onto the downpipe with a turndown. You might be able to just keep it that way. Turbo cars are incredibly quiet sans exhaust.

When you do the rear axle swap that would be a good time to bolt up the exhaust in one piece...

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Is it even possible to do it in one piece if the axle is there?

If you have a lift you can do it in one piece. That's prob how mongoswede got it off.

Pretty sure I had it up on jackstands when I pulled it off...then slid it forwards out the front of the car.
