I only took it out once around the block for a quick break-in run. Felt pretty good, low-speed needs tuning on the carbs and its amazing how much it wakes up in the higher rpms.. Haven't had much time since.

With the help of a booster pack and an air tank, I was able to at least temporarily resurrect the iceracer. It’s pretty rough these days but seems like it ought to be good enough for one more pull at the rally-x. I haven’t touched this car since last year when Jordan and I tried to upset the field at the CBRX at Okemo. There are now even bigger holes in the floor and it smells more than a little mousy but it fired right up and seems to want to live despite all the abuse and neglect. I’m gonna drive it around to work and whatnot a bit to see what falls off or catches on fire before Nov. 7.

A little more done over the weekend.

Finished up the fuse panel , mounted the relays and most of the rear light wiring. So most of the dash is together.

New jets should arrive tomorrow so I'll be able to test later in the week. Still have some window/door seals to install, ground connections to make, mount up some kind of make shift skid plate and install some seat belts , mirrors and make a mount for the battery. Oh and a hood release...

I think you could probably walk outside with a few wrenches and score your makeshift skid plate. Youll just have to paint over the speed limit on the one side.

Josh gave me the idea to use a 900 stock steel plate and massage that in. Should work for the time being just so the trans isn't hanging out like a sore thumb and keep some of the rocks out of my clean engine bay :)

- Exhaust stripped and repainted w/ high temp silicone paint
- Added o2 bung for wideband
- welded on spring bolt coupler for ease of disassembly and header longevity
- Installed system
- Dyed carpet
- Made a dash pad of microsuede
- Installed brake pads (wow those are easy)

I got the coupler off ebay.. similar to this (http://compare.ebay.com/like/1701906109 ... 602_304662) just get the right size and weld it up! I used it right before the heat shield.

Only two more days to work on the car before the event.

I seem to be having fuel pressure issues when the tank gets kind of low and the pump loses prime. I think it has to do with the tiny stock pick-up straw. But I will have to deal with it later I think. Just need to keep the tank fairly full.

Finish battery mount
Wiper motor wiring (Anybody have a diagram for a 4-terminal pre-'74 wiper motor?)
Heat?
Hood release

Rear bumper install
Mud flap install
Misc tasks....

I realize I don't have many finished photos with it all together... I'll have to take some.

Not sure which one yours is, so here's a '71 and a '72-'73 diagram. Sorry the '71 is a little fuzzy.

Thanks Drew! Its birthday is this month (11/70) so its probably a '71 model. Although it looks like the same components, just an added relay + diode on the '71.

What a miserable day to work outside. I did get the wipers/washers going although my switch is a bit finicky, but it will do for now. Hopefully it will clear up tomorrow afternoon and I can get home before it gets to dark to do some jet swapping...
